my left index finger is now missing a major slice of flesh from one side.
note to self: don't try to use scissors to cut plastic away from the lid of my fancy Voss water bottle because the plastic is too hard and the scissors aren't strong enough to cut it.

shard of plastic shears away from the lid and takes a nice 1cm x .5cm x .1cm (or thereabouts) piece of my finger with it.
I stare at it for a bit, thinking "oh... bugger... that's not good... hmmm, it doesn't hurt... and there's no blood... maybe it's not as bad as it looks..."
and then the blood began to well up in the dent...
took a few goes at band-aids to get it sorted... right now it's got a little Simpsons band-aid on the bottom, then a wad of tissue for pressure, then two bigger band-aids for strength.

Isn't it funny how it doesn't hurt for like half a minute and then Arggghhhh fuckin' hellllllll! It kicks in.
I cut myself all the time. *le sigh*
I hate that not bleeding right away thing. I just stand there going "is it bad or not?"
